We accept transfers from all online retailers or shipments from private parties.
Once you’ve coordinated with us and gathered all the necessary information, arrange for the shipment of the firearm to one of our locations. Ensure you comply with all federal and state laws regarding firearm shipping to avoid legal complications.
When the transfer arrives, we will call or text you once the transfer is logged in and ready for pick up.
During your visit, you will undergo the required background check as per Michigan state law. Once the background check is completed, and all necessary paperwork is processed, the firearm will be legally transferred to you.
Before leaving the premises, ensure that you complete all necessary paperwork related to the firearm transfer. This includes filling out a transfer form, providing identification, and signing any required documents. Once all paperwork is completed and the background check is approved, you can take possession of the transferred firearm.
DELAYS, DENIALS, AND APPEALS FOR TRANSFERS
It is the responsibility of the transferee to know if they are legally eligible to possess a firearm, receiver, etc., before making any online firearm purchase. It is also your responsibility to understand the return policy of the online dealer you purchased from.
Delayed Transfers: If a transferee is delayed by the NICS background check system, the firearm(s) will remain in the possession of Armed in Michigan, LLC/Michigan Gun Company, LLC/Freedom Holsters, LLC. A delayed message indicates the FBI needs additional time to verify the transferee’s background. If no determination (proceed or deny) is made within 5 business days, we will transfer the firearm in accordance with the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993.
Denied Transfers: If a transferee is denied by the NICS background check system, the firearm(s) will remain in our possession. The transferee must arrange for the firearm to be returned to the original seller. Contact us within 7 days to provide a shipping label, pay the $25 transfer fee, $30 denial fee, and any other applicable packaging/shipping fees before the firearm is returned.
We will provide the transferee with a NICS resolution card outlining how to request the reason for denial or how to challenge the denial. Additional resources can be found online:
ABANDONED FIREARMS AND OTHER PRODUCTS
If firearms remain in our possession for more than 30 days after the delivery date, they will incur a storage fee of $20 per day. The accumulated fees must be paid before the firearm(s) can be picked up. After 60 days from the delivery date, the firearm(s) will be considered abandoned and become the property of Armed in Michigan, LLC/Michigan Gun Company, LLC/Freedom Holsters, LLC.
If any other products (outside of firearms) remain in our possession for more than 30 days after the delivery date, they will be considered abandoned and become the property of Armed in Michigan, LLC/Freedom Holsters, LLC.
